Movable Type Express
Da ich dieses Blog neu ausrichten und auf eine andere URL umziehen möchte, bin ich gerade dabei, mir Movable Type 4.2 (bzw. den aktuellen Releasekandidaten) anzuschauen. Ich habe mich schon seit längerem etwas darüber geärgert, dass die Standardvorlagen nicht etwas modularer sind (dass man also vorgegebene Module für Header, Footer, Sidebar etc. hat). Um so mehr freue ich mich über das Widgetmanagement und vor allem über die Möglichkeit, die Widgets per Server-Side-Includes einzubinden.
Ich habe mal die Artikel dieses Blogs importiert. Ein komplettes Publishing dauert 3:34 Minuten. Nach dem Umstellen von zwei, drei Widgets auf SSI waren es noch 1:28 Minuten. Das ist schon beeindruckend, und da ist sicher noch mehr drin.

I always found it a bit of a nuisance that the standard templates are not more modular (that there are predefiend modules for headers, footers, sidebar etc.). That's why I like the widget management (probably alrady a MT4 feature) and the new possibility of using Server-Side Includes for these widgets.
After importing the articles of this blog, publishing the complete site took 3:34 minutes (and that is already much faster than the MT3 version I'm using). After setting two, three widgets to use SSI, it took 1:28 minutes. That's impressive, and I believe there is even more room for improvement. Nice!
